Sports, homework, overseeing chores, and more- it’s hard to find the time to make a healthy and tasty dinner, so we often just grab it to go through drive-thru’s or other take-out options. I love recreating some of our family favorites at home, like this Teriyaki Chicken Recipe. Takeout never tasted so good or was so easy. This Asian dish doesn’t even require you to change out of your PJs or yoga pants and make a food run!
Just a few simple ingredients and about 20 minutes are all you need to put a flavorful exotic dish on the table for your family. Give it a try on a busy weeknight and see if your family doesn’t like it better than anything you could find at the mall.
Easy Teriyaki Chicken Recipe
Combine orange juice, garlic, soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, sesame oil, and ginger in a small bowl, whisk thoroughly and allow it to sit so the flavors can marry while you prepare the chicken.
Season raw chicken well with salt and pepper.
Cut chicken into small bite-sized pieces, cut off excess fat.
Place an additional 2 tsp. of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, when it is heated through, add chicken, and cook until all pink is gone and chicken begins to brown.
Pour sauce over chicken and stir to coat well, allow it to simmer for several minutes until sauce thickens and coats all the chicken.
Serve over rice, top with scallions and sesame seeds if you wish. Don’t forget a side of broccoli or snow peas to finish your meal off.
